Two Dangers Christians in America are facing 2 key dangers: (1) THE SECULARIZATION OF OUR FAMILIES is so great that our love or passion for Jesus has not kept pace with it. Honestly, the world’s zeal is stronger than the church’s zeal for Christ. This should not be...in fact it should be directly opposite. God has been minimized and our connection with the world maximized. God has effectively been ruled out of our homes by secular American culture and by the half-hearted Christianity that has become the norm in our country. The secularizing of America is occurring within our homes...with no foreseen remedy except revived parents and kids. Our lukewarmness must be directly confronted by the cross of Christ, deep repentance and a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. (2) THE POWERLESS CHRISTIANITY THAT RULES THE AMERICAN CHURCH is a grave danger. The only remedy I see for this tragic flaw is Jesus words to His disciples after the resurrection”"go and wait in Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high. Honestly, we need a baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire (Matthew 3:11)! Fear rules”"our “faith” is not producing the kind of results that it did in the Bible...believers blazing in love with Jesus! We are far from radical and we are adept at defending our sinful situation with a few out of context passages. The effervescent flames of NT Christianity must be rekindled in the dying American church. The Lord gives us a hope filled promise in times of crisis like today: If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 ...
